About Geddes

The Town of Geddes is made up of the village of Solvay, the more-rural Lakeland and residential Westvale (which Niche ranked the #2 best place to raise a family in the Syracuse area for 2020). Its location provides ample opportunities to preserve and expand upon its strengths as the Town is bordered on the west by Onondaga Lake, whose resurgence continues to stimulate new recreational opportunities and developments, including the nearby Lakeview Amphitheater venue. The Town has recently developed a comprehensive plan intended to guide the communities’ vision for its future and addressing local residents concerns as to what they consider important to their quality of life.

Along with events at the Amphitheater, Geddes also hosts the NYS Fair which is held annually. We invite you to explore the parks and newly developed trails like Loop the Lake and Empire State trails that run through the Geddes area and connect us with our neighboring townships.

The Town of Geddes is a community that prides itself on being a community that supports small businesses and larger companies.  Our neighboring residents are invited to visit the small businesses on State Fair Blvd or large corporations in the areas of Farrell Road and Dwight Park.
