For Immediate Release
TOWN OF GEDDES AND VILLAGE OF SOLVAY ANNOUNCES FINAL PUBLIC MEETING FOR ITS COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
On Wednesday, February 27, 2019, the Town of Geddes and Village of Solvay will hold a public information meeting related to the preparation of its first Comprehensive Plan. This meeting will take place from 7pm to 8:30pm. The meeting will be held upstairs at the Exposition Center inside the New York State Fairgrounds.
The purpose of the meetings is to present a draft of the Plan and engage meeting participants to solicit important feedback from the community.
The Comprehensive Plan is a long-range plan that will provide guidance for the physical growth and development in the Town over the next ten years. The plan will include an assessment of existing conditions, set goals for the future, and recommend projects, policies and programs to achieve community planning goals. Once adopted, the Plan will serve as a decision making guide for Town and Village staff and elected officials for decisions related to land use, public investments, and capital improvements.
The project is locally funded by the Town and Village, and is being directed by a 12-member steering committee representing elected officials and community citizens. The project web site is www.envisiongeddessolvay.org
